Afia Schwar begs the court not to imprison her
Afia Schwar, who claimed to have turned a new leaf, has returned to Ghana after being placed under house arrest following her case with Chairman Wontumi.
The comedian was not in the country when the court dismissed its final judgement in her infamous contempt case with Chairman Wontumi.
Upon her arrival in the nation, she and her lawyer rushed straight to court to ask the judge to reconsider the harsh punishment imposed on her.
Afia Schwar was ordered to pay Ghc 60,000 and serve 10 days in jail for making derogatory remarks against Chairman Wontumi on UTV roughly 5 months ago.
Because Afia Schwar is unable to complete the 10-day jail sentence, she believes it should be replaced with a fine.
The court has agreed to consider her plea, therefore she will appear in court on December 17, 2023 to learn her destiny.
