Wizkid recently spoke with a young girl who interviewed him and asked him a lot of questions about his music and Afrobeats in general.
The Nigerian musician, who has been dubbed “the biggest act of his generation,” correctly stated that music is a universal language, which means that one does not have to comprehend his home tongue to enjoy the song.
He made this statement during an interview on Jazzy’s World TV with a young girl who is believed to be an actress about his sound and Afrobeats acceptance around the world.
The girl told Starboy that she loves his music and Afrobeats, but she doesn’t always understand the lyrics. She herself decided that because music is a universal language, it talks directly to her heart and that is all that matters, to which Wizkid enthusiastically agreed.
Aside from Afrobeats, the Grammy winner revealed that he appreciates Reggeaton and has friends who are Reggeaton musicians, despite the fact that he does not understand Patois.
